Wish I could have seen them live. Probably would have been a great show. Reb Beech is a great guitarist. One person found this helpful. If you listened to Winger back in the 80's and early 90's theve still got it. Great live cd. With tracks from there latest cd IV. It's a keeper. I may have nothing better to do right now, but just received a link from Amazon about the new live CD. This is the stuff that made the band in the first place! Excellent, excellent show, and Kip is a great front man on bass.

Winger, one of the most under-rated bands from the 80's Glam rock scene, have never released a live DVD of their music.
I have no idea why as they are perfectionist's and this DVD show's their extreme talent amongst 3 of the 4 original members Paul Taylor missing, replaced by the great John Roth who shreds like a master.
All 4 members give it their all and you can tell they still love this band and still love their fans. There is not much to say about Kip Winger that hasn't been said about him already. His vocal range hasn't changed a bit in my opinion.
Reb Beach is a master and he knows it! He's very confident of his ability and after watching this DVD, I now know why it's hard to find Winger guitar tab anywhere. His playing is impossible to reproduce. He's just that good. Reb, if you're reading this, I will pay you dearly for guitar lessons!
John Roth is simply amazing. He's been with Winger since the Pull album and there's no doubt he completes the band's sound. And of course we can't forget Rod Morgenstein who seemed to enjoy himself the most on this recording. There wasn't a moment that the camera was on him that he didn't have a grin from ear to ear. Production quality of the DVD is decent.
High Definition and 5. The extras on the DVD are There is a nice segment of rehearsal footage for the show however the audio is recording way too low. The other extra, a photo gallery, is nice but I would have rather seen interviews or bus footage or something. All in all this DVD is great. If you're a fan of Winger or this type of music, go buy this DVD. You won't be disappointed. A rare concert DVD from one of the most underrated and mis-understood bands of all time.
A great collection of old and new that would be a great introduction to someone that has never had the pleasure of hearing this band. The bands performance demonstrates perfectly how professional and talented these guys are. Kip Wingers vocals are as good as ever and Reb Beach's solos are almost note for note correct - an amazing feat considering how complex they were on the studio albums. Unfortunately, the DVD itself is a bit of a let-down: video quality is good but looks a bit amateurish at times, the switching between colour and black and white is a gimmick that is getting very old now and the DVD is promoted as being widescreen, well, it's not really - it has been captured in then authored to in letterbox format which means you get black bars top and bottom as well as on both sides!
This would look OK on a TV but c'mon guys, it's a widescreen world now! Also, as has been mentioned by other reviews, this is in Dolby Digital 2. Worthwhile purchase but a little disappointing on the presentation - lets hope the next DVD release will improve. One person found this helpful. It has been way to long since Winger were together. Literally, THE most underated band in history, they produced three of the greatest rock albums from the era, and way to soon, where forced from the music industry by a wave of ironically MUCH less talented, side-show freaks who could barely play their own instruments.
But these new-commers weren't "hair bands", so they got respect as musicians despite the fact that their abilities musically were SORELY lacking, if they existed at all. Crazy, I know!! Thankfully, Winger have reunited and put out an excellent fourth album appropriately titled IV.
And with all albums, comes a support tour which they have captured very well on this DVD. Though the sound is not in Dolby5.
I too was disappointed with that. It still sounds great. The camera-work, and the set list will not disappoint. All in all, and not just cuz I have been a fan four twenty years, this is a five star DVD!! Highly recommended!! If you are a fan, or someone who has never heard of them before, check it out!! Support the band!! We need more music from these guys. If you're a Beavis and Butthead Winger hater, well then you're in appropriate company.
Seeing Winger live on this tour and the following tour was wonderful; after the release of "Winger IV - CD" seeing them live the entire group was on it they rocked the sold out club it was a great show. I have been a fan of Winger since the debut album and even got to see them live after the release of the 2nd album in of all places Peterborough.
This gig was recorded live in California following the release of 's 4th album IV and all your faves are here including 3 songs from that 4th album. Truly brilliant if you are a fan of 80's hair metal and it knocked 25 years off me just watching it. As a bonus there is an 8 minute soundcheck if you are really into soundchecks of course The band gives you a vulgar display of musicianship whilst being highly technical and yet conjuring great melodies - a feat in itself.
The band is made up of Reb Beach and Jon Roth on guitars, Rod Morgenstein of drums this guy is a monster and last but not least Kip Winger on bass, keyboards and vocals what a voice!
Visually the camera changes happen at just the right moment and there are no special effects that ruin so many of the recent live DVDs!. Get it It's official!!! Top quality musicians playing top quality rock!!!! I'm definitely gona try to catch then live if they come back to the UK For "Winger" fans that can't "Get Enough" now you can "Loosen Up" because you now have something to stand up and cheer about. In the 20 plus years that "Winger" has been rocking they have amassed a legion of loyal fans that just can't get enough of them and their metal sound.
Winger "live" is the bands first entry into the DVD concert market and fans won't be disappointed by what they see and hear. The Song list and level of musicianship by the band is sure to please any casual or hard core "Winger" fan. From the second they take the stage there's no doubt why Kip Winger, Reb Beach, John Roth and Rod Morgenstein have been able to hang around for so long.
The DVD concerts 19 song set list is really impressive and the level of showmanship and precision of playing from the guys makes for a great concert experience for those lucky to be in attendance.
Kip Wingers voice seems to have stood the test of time and the backing vocals and harmonies are as good as they ever were. The music is tight and the band seems to really be having a great time on stage and the audience is with them song after song. While this DVD release from Shrapnel is very good it could have been much better. For one thing the Audio mix is only in 2. The picture is really clear but some segments switch from color to black and white for a different effect. I would have preferred they just present the concert straight forward and in color.
In my opinion the camera editing could have been so much better, there's a little to much crowd shots for my liking. Aside from a couple minor complaints this is an excellent entry into the DVD concert forum for "Winger" and their fans. I highly recommend it!! Blind Revolution Mad 2. Loosen Up 3.
